David LaChapelle’s work is vibrant and in a way it doesn’t look real. His models he has made for these shoots are made out of recycled rubbish. For example the bottom left photo has straws going into the water. Old drink cans as parts as buildings. Personally I don’t really like this series of work he has created as they don’t really tell a story or allow you to make one for yourself.
In the daily telegraph they had evaluated his work and said ‘ It is meant to represent the absurdity of our attempts to harness nature’ which in a way I can see as he has reused materials and created plantations for oil ect. But he has made it into bright colours and soft looking making it seem okay.
